Loss of bone density is one of the most common side effects in kidney transplant patients. Regarding the role of physical activity and exercise in preventing bone loss bone density, The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of 12 weeks of resistance training on the bone density in renal transplant patients. Methods A quasi-experimental study was designed for this research. A total of 24 renal transplant patients are randomly assigned to either a control group (n = 12 ) test group (12 people) and 12 weeks participated in a resistance training program. Lumbar and femoral bone mineral density in subjects before and after 12 weeks of resistance training were measured by DEXA. Information obtained by SPSS software using t-test evaluated the independent and dependent. Results The results showed that the femur bone mineral density in experimental group after 12 weeks of exercise therapy was significantly increased from ( 0/689 ± 0/09 g/cm2 to 0/679± 0/09 g/cm2 ) ,( P = 0/00) While lumbar spine bone mineral densitometry BMD after the training of the 0/853 ±0/06 g/cm2 to 0/852± 0/05 g/cm2 was changed where change was not significant (P= 0/463) While the control group did not show any differences in bone mineral density after 12 weeks (P= 0/05). In between the thigh bone was a significant ,( P = 0/00) difference between experimental and control groups . and between bone mineral density of the lumbar spine intervention and control groups was not significant(P= 0/445) . Conclusions The findings of this study can be concluded that resistance exercise on bone mineral density in the hip kidney transplant patients have a positive effect , this training program can serve as an appropriate intervention for treatment of patients with may be recommended.
