The journal supports the responsible and transparent use of AI technologies while maintaining the principles of research integrity, scientific accountability, and ethical publishing.

Use of AI Tools by Authors

Authors may use artificial intelligence and AI-assisted tools for limited purposes such as improving language, grammar, spelling, formatting, and readability of a manuscript. The use of such tools does not replace the authors’ responsibility for the originality, accuracy, integrity, and scientific validity of their work. Authors remain fully responsible for the content of their manuscripts, including all statements, data, analyses, interpretations, citations, and conclusions. Any errors or inaccuracies introduced through the use of AI tools remain the responsibility of the authors. Authors must not use AI tools to generate, fabricate, manipulate, or misrepresent research data, results, images, references, or scientific evidence.

Disclosure of AI Use

Authors should disclose the use of AI tools when such use has had a substantive impact on the preparation, analysis, or presentation of the manuscript. Disclosure is required when AI tools are used beyond basic language correction or formatting assistance. The disclosure should specify the name of the AI tool, the purpose of its use, and the extent of assistance provided.

Example:
During the preparation of this manuscript, the authors used [Name of AI tool] for [describe purpose]. The authors reviewed and edited all AI-generated content and take full responsibility for the final version of the manuscript.

AI as an Author

AI tools, including large language models and generative AI systems, cannot be listed as authors or contributors of manuscripts submitted to Physical Treatments. Authorship requires human responsibility, accountability, and the ability to approve and take responsibility for the published work.

Use of AI in Peer Review

Reviewers and editors must maintain confidentiality throughout the peer-review process. Manuscripts submitted to Physical Treatments must not be uploaded to publicly available or third-party AI systems for review, evaluation, summarization, or analysis without explicit authorization from the journal.
 

Editorial Use of AI

The journal may use AI-assisted technologies for limited administrative and editorial support. However, AI tools do not replace editorial judgment. All final decisions regarding peer review, acceptance, rejection, and publication are made by qualified human editors.
 

Ethical Principles

Physical Treatments follows internationally recognized principles regarding responsible AI use in scholarly publishing, including guidance provided by organizations such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). The journal reserves the right to request clarification regarding the use of AI tools and may take appropriate editorial action if undisclosed or inappropriate AI use is identified.
