abstract Background: we undertook a literature review to produce evidence-based recommendation for the kinesio tape of upper trapezius muscle in the musculoskeletal disorders of upper quarter region. Data source: a full literature electronic search was performed using google scholar ,pubmed, science direct, proquest, medline, advanced google and pedro database. The following keywords were used: trapezius muscle, upper trapezius muscle, clinical taping. kinesio tape, elastic tape. physio tape, musculoskeletal disorders, upper quarter region. Study selection: criteria that were used by researcher included the English papers that had been published from 2000 to 2013. Data extraction: We found 35 articles through database searching, 15 articles, potentially relevant papers retrieved for evaluation of full text .generaiiy studies put into 4 categories on the based of the application of kinesio tape. Data synthesis: Although upper trapezius taping seems to reduce pain in short term and improve function in people with pain and movement disorder during activities of daily living, strong evidence to identify the underlying mechanisms is still not available
